WWE: RECAP Monday Night RAW February 12, 2018

Look I'm sorry ok. I've been sick with the flu for the past 2 weeks. I haven't been able to post about wrestling and honestly some of it I haven't watched. I've missed a lot. But I'm feeling better and I want to start my blog. So without further ado here is my review of tonights Monday Night Raw!

Last Week on Monday Night Raw:

Bayley lost to Asuka but earned her respect

Cena, Strowman, and Elias battled for the 6th Man entrance in the Chamber. Elias won. I thought the whole point of that Elimination Chamber was to see who would enter. The Surprise of it, Right?!

Elimination Chamber Tournament continued. Currently, the men in the chamber: Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, John Cena, The Miz, Elias, and a last chance winner of tonights match fatal four way. Finn Balor vs Matt Hardy vs Apollo Crews vs Bray Wyatt.

Mickie James is saved by her former ally Alexa Bliss

Women's Elimination Chamber Participants were Announced. Bliss will defend her title against: Bayley, Sasha, Sonya, Mandy, & Mickie James. Bliss tried to wriggle her way out of defending her title in the Elimination Chamber but Kurt shut that ish down real quick like.

Now that we're sort of caught up from what I can remember. Listen I was in a haze of medicine and hot toddies so I was 4 sheets to the wind man...I was dead to rights Lmao. Anyways...here's the review of this weeks Monday Night RAW...

RAW started off with John Cena giving a monologue about winning the Elimination Chamber and finally beating the one opponent he has never been able to conquer. In the middle of John's typical motivational speech, he was interrupted by the Miz. Of course, the Miz comes out saying he's going to win the Chamber. And he definitely matches up better with Brock Lesnar better than John Cena. He also made some valid points...aww I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit just saying that ðŸ™Š. Anyway, he explained that the difference between he and John is simple: he will go where John won't go and he'll do anything to obtain championships. That's how he beat Roman Reigns and that's how he'll beat Brock Lesnar. Delusional. If the Miz EVER gets to face Brock Lesnar and BEATS him that's a slap in the face to all of the competitors who have fallen before the Beast. Every single one. From Aj Styles to Roman Reigns to John Cena to the Undertaker complete slap in the face. So nope! Better not happen EVER!

Well with my rant and all that was said between the two superstars it leads to a challenge by Mr. Hustle Loyalty and Respect. He challenged the Miz to a match: loser enters the chamber 1st! The Miz accepted the match after having his MizBitches attack John, then called for a ref.

Kurt Angle came out and made the match official. But the removed the MizBitches from the equation and it was just John and Miz.

MATCHES

Men's Division: John Cena vs The MizStipulation: Winner enters the Chamber at #1Winner: John Cena

John Cena started this match on his back. It was physical and interesting, to say the least. I will say this, The Miz put in work. The match was good. Ultimately The Miz lost to John Cena and will enter the chamber at #1.

Tag Team Division: "The Good Bros" Gallow & Anderson vs The RevivalWinner: The Revival

The Revival took this match to a whole other level. Before the match could begin they attacked. Chop blocked Gallows and began the attack on the men. From then on it was all the Revival. The Good Bros attempted to push through but just couldn't shake off the cobwebs of a previous attack. The Revival picked up the win.

Women's Division: Sasha Banks vs Bayley
Winner: Bayley

This match was great. Bayley tried to end the match early with several rollups but was unsuccessful. Sasha began to dominate for most of the match. She targeted Bayley's arm that is always taped up and did everything she could to pull an upset on the hometown hugger. Even being able to get her in the Bank Statement only for Bayley to find the bottom rope and break the submission move. One misstep made by Banks allowed her to end up on the other end of a Bayley to Belly. Which allowed her to pick up the win. Now once it was over it appeared either the women were going to shake hands to break their friendship but before any of that could happen, Nia Jax, decimated both competitors. When asked why she involved herself. She simply stated that both these women took Asuka to her breaking point but she was going to be the one to break the streak.

Women's Division: Sonya & Mandy "Absolution" vs Mickie James & Alexa Bliss
Winner: Absolution

Good match. Not something I cared to see. Alexa actually worked with Mickie didn't abandon her. But ultimately they were able to outsmart and beat the 6 women's champ and the 4 time current women's champion of RAW. It wasn't exceptional and it wasn't terrible. It was just a decent match that wasn't boring.

Men's Division: Roman Reigns vs Sheamus
Winner: Roman Reigns

A physical match hard hitting and strong. You what I noticed Roman gets injured on the same got damn arm every single match. At this point I'm expecting it to fall off. I mean he is injured in the same place, on the same arm, every single time. I just wonder how can that be? I mean why target that specific arm. Is it like hanging on by a thread? Because at this point he's just a one armed man. Anyway there were some great highlights in this match! For one Roman caught Sheamus power bombed him. Sheamus hit roman with a nasty knee to the face. And Roman speared Sheamus from the top rope for the victory. This was a good match I was highly entertained.

Men's Division: Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt vs Finn Balor vs Apollo Crews vs Seth Rollins
Stipulation: Fatal 5 Way (Formally a Fatal 4 Way) for the Final Spot in the Elimination Chamber
Winner: Seth Rollins & Finn Balor

I have to say this match was really good. Everybody performed well even Apollo Crews for the time that he was a relevant factor in the match. It really came down to Seth and Finn. Who wanted it more? And apparently they both did. Look Finn deserved the shot. For the last 2 years Finn has been given rivalries and all be it he's been working them its not exactly fair. As the first Universal Champion he should've been able to compete for it right out the gate. But its like their saving him for something. Our guarding that belt for someone else. Anyway in Seth's case he's been riding the tag team wave for a while and after his stint with Dean got cut short due to injury it seems he was left out in the cold with WrestleMania looming. So he plead his case and the original fatal 4 way was changed to a fatal 5 way. Now with that being said the ending of the match as was a major cliff hanger. Seth and Finn BOTH pinned Bray Wyatt. And the ref obviously counted both men as the winner. Neither of them aware that the other has also pinned Bray. It all came to head when they were done celebrating. Both men were legally the winner of the match.

In Other News

John & The Miz

This is a long standing rivalry two of the best guys to hold a mic in the WWE (hey I know how your looking at this as I'm writing it. But John is a good mic guy. Even though sometimes it may be corny and a little pandering he's no shy guy. Anyways...). Their banter back and forth was cool. I thought opening up RAW with John Cena was a bit of a let down. John has a tendency of being a wet blanket for just about everything he's involved in. I think the reason why that is is because you know exactly where he's going to come from every time he comes out and any time he touches the mic you know what he's going to say and how its going to be said. There's no mystery with him. He's very transparent. With the Miz its different. Although he is in a similar boat as John he manages to ensure he punishes whoever touches that microphone. He finds the worst thing he can whether it be rumor or truth and he uses against you. Anyone whose in the ring with him should be very prepared because he has no filter. I will say that it lead to a decent match between the two. So I'm good..

Asuka Gets a Promo with No Appearance

WWE is putting a lot of stock in Asuka. They cut a promo about Asuka's reign from the time she debuted in 2015 to now 3 years later. Let's Break it down by the Numbers According to WWE:

Undefeated Streak: 860 Days
Wins: 240
Losses: 0
Opponents: 34 (4 Continents, 11 Countries, 8 of those women have been Champions in NXT & WWE)
NXT Title Reign: 523 Days
Longest Championship Reign of the Modern Era
7th Longest Championship Reign of All TIME
7th Superstar/1st Woman to be a Sole Survivor at Survivor Series & a Royal Rumble Winner

Beyond accomplished superstar in her short stint in the WWE.

Alexa Bliss Tries to Make Nice with Mickie

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James teamed up on RAW this past Monday. Bliss apologized for her antics last year. Referring the 6 time women's champion as old. She apologized for her disrespect and assured Mickie that she had her back out there against Absolution. Mickie was grateful that the champ came to her rescue last week. But she made it very clear that despite her help, in the Elimination Chamber its every woman for herself! Cause she's coming for her 7th Woman's Championship.

Elias has a Message for His Opponents & Braun Settles the Score

Elias and this damn guitar ish is getting on my nerves. HE irritates me beyond belief. This isn't American idol this is WWE! If you want to pursue your dreams as a rock star or musician period try your hand at the voice, the four, American idol, or go over seas to The Masked Singer its very popular. Try your hand at that. But don't get my ring (YEA THAT'S RIGHT I SAID MY RING) and sit there and sing about absolutely nothing. The got damn songs aren't even clever. I mean damn even the Rock would make you laugh and be funny!

Ok now that my rant is over let's get into this hilarious clash of titans vs mortals. Just guess who was who? LOL. Elias starts off the mess with his BS song. BRAUN STROWMAN CAN ACTUALLY SING! THIS FOOL CAME OUT WITH A BASS AND ACTUALLY SANG! AND IT WASN'T HALF BAD. JEEZ. HE TOOK THE BASS AND BROKE IT OVER ELIAS' BACK. I WAS SO FLOORED AND DYING LAUGHING. THAT WAS INSTANT GRATIFICATION.  EASILY THE BEST SEGMENT OF THE NIGHT.

NO CRUISER WEIGHTS

The cruiser weights were nowhere to be found on RAW this past Monday. Usually they get one time slot at least. This week they weren't anywhere but 205 Live.

SETH ROLLINS MAKES HIS PLEA TO FIGHT FOR A SHOT IN THE ELIMINATION CHAMBER

As Kurt announced that his son Jason Jordan was injured and recently had successful neck surgery. Seth interrupted. Not to fan the flames but to get back on the top of the mountain. Kurt was reluctant but ended up adding him to the fatal 4 way match to determine who the final entrant in the chamber would be. When the final bell rang as I said before: both Seth and Finn won the match. Therefore there are now 7 men fighting to fight Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania for the WWE Universal Championship!

RAW was good this week. I have no complaints.

Well until next time folks....
