RAW started off interesting. One cool thing John Cena did do was give a sick fan the shirt off his back before he opened the show. It was pretty cool.

Cena was in the ring doing his usual song and dance only to be interrupted by Elias. Elias decided it was his time to sing and do his weekly concert. Despite John Cena being in the ring addressing the WWE Universe. The ever charismatic Cena took it in stride though and allowed Elias to do what he does best...insult the crowd. But as he began to sing John stepped in. One thing I've learned about Elias, interrupting his impromptu concerts can have dangerous consequences.

When Cena noticed Elias was disrespecting the Chicago fans he cut everything. Cena wouldn't allow him to continue unless he was respectful to the fans. Elias asked for a second chance, changed the song and even had John Cena join in. Why? I don't know all I know is IT SUCKED.

But before Cena could even finish croaking out (and I do mean CROAKING OUT) his song he got sucker punched! It was funny and sad at the same time. I mean I saw it coming it was too obvious not to. Elias is a sensitive artist (lmao). It doesn't take much to cause an issue with him especially when it comes to his music. So I didn't expect him to "allow" Cena to tell him what he should and shouldn't sing. Although if you ask me he shouldn't sing at all.

This confrontation led to a match between Cena and Elias. Which for the most part of the match Elias dominated. But John Cena ultimately picked up the win. I don't know why they felt they needed John Cena on this Raw. For the 25th anniversary yes absolutely but for this episode honestly he could've stayed home with Nicki Bella. Now I don't think him being there was a bad idea but it was just SO WACK. I mean from his monologue to his interactions with Elias it was just blah! Even the match itself was slow, boring and had no energy at all.

I love John Cena. I've been a fan of his since I was 15 years old. But the days of his style of WWE wrestling are dying out and the new class is carving out a niche that is changing the landscape. It pains me to say this but John has fizzled out. It's time for him to move on and make occasional pop-ups like The Rock. There should not have been a match between Elias and John Cena. There should've been some words being thrown back and forth and John laid Elias out with an attitude adjustment. Boom segment over and no one would've lost 20 to 30 minutes of their lives that they can't get back. I'm still mad.

Moving on...

After Cena's match they cut a promo highlighting Samoa Joe. I like Samoa Joe. He's different and I believe out of all the guys on the roster he's being utilized the best. After the promo ran Kurt Angle asked both Rollins and Jordan to come into his office. They both have a gripe with Joe and want their chance to get their hands on him. The GM agreed but explained that Sheamus and Cesaro are going to be in their way and the only way to get to Joe would be to go through them. So he made a match for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships: Cesaro and Sheamus aka The Shower Rod Bros vs Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins.

Seconds after that announcement the man who wasn't on Raw last week Roman Reigns walks in looking like he was about to snatch someones head off. The GM left Samoa Joe to Reigns and made it an IC Championship match.

I just knew The Shower Rod Bros would weasel their way out of this match and Roman was going into 2018 with no IC Championship. I was absolutely sure of it! But I guess I was wrong!

Meanwhile in the Cruiserweight division,

Hideo Itami is shining like the STAR he is! And of course Kendrick and his Gentleman sidekick Gallagher are not impressed. Brian Kendrick volunteered to show Hideo Itami what a former cruiserweight champion is capable of and of course, Itami accepted.

Kendrick had some bright spots as well Hideo Itami. But it was Itami who ultimately would take the match and get the W. Itami uses the GTS (Go To Sleep) and with the way he utilizes it 's a nasty move. If executed properly you can break serious bones in the face. His knee is exposed and that in itself is dangerous. It looked devastating and if it wasn't Kendrick damn sure sold it. But from what I saw there was blood and according to the ring announcers Kendrick broke his nose and orbital bone socket and will be out for quite some time.

Now there is some controversy surrounding Hideo Itami and the GTS move. So the real deal is...the move is Hideo Itami's. It was invented by HIM and CM Punk made it famous. Scouts honor. Look don't argue with me lol. It's true. If you never heard of NJPW you probably like me thought the GTS was CM Punks. But no, it is Hideo Itami's.

Ok, now that that's cleared up. We're going to move on.

Next up: Absolution vs Bayley, Sasha Banks, & Mickie James

I'm sorry BUT I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS GOT DAMN MATCH! FOR 3 WEEKS THEY'VE BEEN MAKING THEM WRESTLE EACH OTHER. AND EVERY SINGLE TIME ABSOLUTION CHEATS. I AM DONE WITH THIS. SOMEONE, PLEASE EXPLAIN THEIR END GAME. THEY'VE ATTACKED ALEXA BLISS ONCE! NEVER WENT AFTER NIA. MADE SASHA, BAYLEY, AND MICKIE THEIR MAIN TARGETS. NONE OF THESE WOMEN HAVE BELTS OR ANY MOMENTUM TO GET ONE. SO AGAIN I ASK WHATS THE END GAME. MAKE IT WORTHWHILE. DOMINATE EVERYONE NOT JUST A SELECT FEW. I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS STORYLINE IT IRRITATES MY SOUL.

*Clears throat* My apologies I had to get that out. Anyway, let's review this match! In the beginning, Sasha, Bayley, and Mickie did a good tagging and keeping the momentum in their favor. But the tide changed when Sonya Deville hit Sasha with a VICIOUS CLOTHESLINE. I have to admit it was devastating and Sasha definitely sold it to perfection. Sasha became the target and Absolution pounced. They kept her in the ring for the majority of the match. She took the brunt of the punishment. But she was able to tag Bayley and get a reprieve. Bayley did a good job quickening the pace of the match and almost got the win but Mandy and Sonya saved their leader before the 3rd count. Frustrated and fed up Sasha and Mickie attack and pretty much an all-out brawl ensued on the outside of the ring. Bayley still in control took a little too much time giving Paige the opportunity to recover and capitalize. Paige hits the RamPaige and gets the win.

This was a good match. Tempo was quick when it started, slowed down but still interesting in the middle, and ended with the match picking the tempo back up. It was fun to watch. I know I know I ranted and bitched before but I can give props when props are due. It was a good match. It was the best match they've had since these 6 women have been coming in contact with each other. So for me as of right now this was the best match of the night.

Next Match...filler: Heath Slater vs Kane

If you're looking for a competitive match that gave an amazing display of athletic ability and competition then you're looking at the wrong match. See the previous match with Absolution vs James Banks and Bayley and you'll get your fill of quality wrestling. This match between Kane and Slater was nowhere near that kind of match but it wasn't bad either. This storyline for Slater and Rhyno is eerily similar to the storyline of The Ascension and Breezango. Friends throwing their friends in the path a dangerous entity. Kane being Slater's danger and The Bludgeon Bros being Breezango's.

Now having said that last week Rhyno said he had a plan to toughen up Heath. Although reluctant he agreed and went along with Rhyno's plan sight unseen. Not a wise choice considering the man uses self-tanner like lotion and continuously eats cheez whiz with crackers all the time. But nonetheless Rhyno setup a match between Heath and Kane.

Heath, of course, was afraid yet he still competed. Heath put up a small fight and got gassed up by the WWE Universe and Rhyno. But it was all for naught. He ended up being choke slammed by the Big Red Machine. Kane picks up the win. And his trusty friend Rhyno also got a chokeslam.

Another filler: Curtis Hawkins vs Finn Balor (Poor Balor you deserve better than this)

Curtis Hawkins has a losing record that is both impressive and extremely sad. Hawkins has lost 146  matches in a row. I would be so upset if I had to be that guy but if my paycheck was nice I'd allow the humiliation. I need to be paid to be humiliated like that. This is worse than Santino Marella's 1 sec entry in the Royal Rumble a while back.

Anywho Curtis decided that he had to fact check himself. This was his final shot to obtain one win this year. He said he was in the giving mood. So to get himself on track for 2018, Hawkins issued yet another open challenge. And Finn Balor answered. Once Finn's music hit I was sure Hawkins was losing this match and I was right! Finn Balor hits the Coup de Grace and gets the win.

The match wasn't terrible it was just pathetic and a little messed up for Balor. It's like they don't have a viable rivalry for him so he's just floating around. He's just getting crumbs and I don't like it. Why can't he be the IC Champion? No disrespect to Roman but I think he would fair better at holding the title. I just don't get why he's so underutilized. You got a great competitor in Finn Balor: He is great in the ring, decent on the mic, he has an alternate persona that is AHMAZING TO SEE, and he's easy on the eyes. Plus WWE fans including myself absolutely LOVE HIM! What more can you ask for in top WWE talent? Sigh...I guess we'll have to see what they have in store for Balor in 2018. And if its more of THIS, I don't think Finn will be able to hold his place in WWE much longer.

As far as Hawkins goes...I'm not surprised. I expect more losses in the year 2018. LMAO

It's TIME for the forces of Light and Dark to FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY COLLIDE! The Great War will have its first CLASH!

Bray Wyatt spoke briefly in his normal format and then made his way to the ring. OMG, I thought we would never see Bray in the ring again! Jeez! Bray Wyatt tried to call out Matt Hardy but was thwarted by Woken Matt before he could even open his mouth!

I'm here for this I just wish this would've happened a while ago. Woken Matt was given a huge boost. The crowd loved his interaction with Bray Wyatt. I'm curious as to how this will play out. The crowd absolutely loved it. When the segment ended and moved into Sheamus and Cesaro they were still chanting for Matt Hardy. Next week they should definitely take this rivalry to the next step.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Shower Rod Bros are up next and of course their not happy about having to defend their titles against Rollins and Jordan. But they were in the Christmas spirit and decided to exchange gifts. They gifted each other dolls of their opponents. A one-armed Dean Ambrose (which I thought was distasteful), a Rollins doll, and a Jason Jordan doll. To which they made the point that no one wants him including his father and his tag team partner Seth Rollins.

I had mixed feelings about this segment. The crowd was completely enamored with Matt and Bray.  The Bar was completely ignored and overshadowed by Bray Wyatt and Woken Matt's interaction. They paid Sheamus and Cesaro absolutely no mind until the very end of the segment. Which leads me to believe that Cesaro and Sheamus are on their last legs. I like them as a duo. Oddly enough they work but it's getting ready to be 2018 and we need variety. With The Revival on the horizon and Jordan & Rollins on their heels. I don't foresee The Shower Rod Bros holding the belts into the new year.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Moving on...

The Cruiserweights had another segment Monday with a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. Enzo Amore and Zo Train vs Cedric Alexander (I Love Cedric), Mustafa Ali, and Akira Tozawa. It was a fun campy match. Ali and Tozawa went flying it was AWESOME! There were Christmas trees and candy canes flying everywhere. But in the end, Cedric Alexander hit the lumbar check and picked up the win for his team. This match was fun to watch. Although watching Enzo beg another man wasn't attractive lmao it still was a fun match to watch.

I love the cruiserweights. I feel like if they give them proper storylines and a decent 2-hour show it can be an even better brand. You need guys like Enzo and Brian Kendrick to stir up the pot. I just wish there was more validity to the brand if that makes sense?

Match Grade:

Speaking of Enzo...we all know that according to the storyline (honestly I don't think Enzo would be Nia's type in real life) Nia Jax is really feeling Enzo. However everytime they get the conversation going they are interrupted. Case in point, Nia approached Enzo and they were conversing. They were under the mistletoe and it took them 2 and half minutes to almost kiss. Only to be interrupted by Alexa Bliss saying how she needed Nia's help and it involved the Women's, Royal Rumble. Nia left leaving Enzo under the mistletoe alone.

Next Match...

Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe for the InterContinental Championship

Earlier in the night Samoa Joe (my favorite Heel) made it very clear that he is proud of his actions on Dean Ambrose a week ago. What made it even more sinister was that he was saying all these horrible things to Dean Ambrose's wife and WWE commentator Renee Young. That was messed up. But after the night went on right before his match with Joe, Roman was asked what he felt about Joe's comments. He said he didn't care what Joe said or thinks. Tonight was about Dean Ambrose and sending a message. The message is if you hurt one of my brothers I'm gonna hurt you.

So now its time for the match. At first, it started off normal. Samoa Joe came down to the ring smug, angry and confident. But when Roman came down to the ring it was different. I'd seen that look before. It was the exact same look Roman had when he fought Bray Wyatt in a steel cage match and the same look he had when he had that rivalry with Triple H. Pure anger non stop until revenge was sought. That Roman Reigns is dangerous and real talk I kind of wish he was like that all the time! Anyway Roman went ham. He took it to him right from the beginning. He hit Joe with a driveby that was insane. Joe eventually recovered and took over. It was a vicious and I liked every moment of it.

But it didn't end with a proper winner. Joe tried to take out Roman's arm same as he did to Ambrose. For the most part, it was working. Until the tide changed. Roman got disqualified after shoving the official during an onslaught of stomps and kicks. He let his emotions get the best of him. He launched a vicious assault on Samoa Joe. Attacking his arm the same way Joe and The Shower Rod bros attacked Dean Ambrose. Roman beat the hell outta Joe before he could scurry away holding his arm. I mean steel steps to his arm at least twice, almost got hit with a steel chair!! Oh, it looked brutal. I like the focused, brutality that Roman Reigns exhibits. It makes for damn good tv!
Side Note: Booker T is an idiot. A Righthanded Southpaw jab? Bruh smdh. His commentary is annoyingly stupid sometimes. He cannot possibly believe what he says. But given the fact that per the rumor Vince sometimes tells them what to say...I'm not surprised his commentary is beyond idiotic at times.

Good Ole Seth Rollins was smiling in approval of the beatdown Roman gave Joe. In walks Jason Jordan cocky and arrogant.

Clearly, Jordan is beyond ready for the clash with the Shower Rod Bros. He said that he doesn't wish anyone hurt but Rollins had to admit that he was a great "REPLACEMENT" as a tag team partner. Rollins made it very clear that no matter how good he thinks he is he will never be Dean Ambrose. His rebuttal: No....I'll be better.

Yes, Jordan your in-ring capability is awesome but you have no charisma and no personality. And in this business, your persona must be worthy. And right now treading on the career of your so-called father is not enough. You definitely need to focus on developing a character worth hating or loving. Honestly, people just hate you. No reason other than your annoying as hell. Begging crying and bullshitting. Get it together Jordan if you're going to hang with the big dogs you have to be able to hunt on your own!

Moving On...

MizTourage was granted a match against an opponent of the GM's choosing. Well before the opponent was announced they decided to sing another carol. Ugh...it was bad. Just B.A.D. About 5 seconds into their song Braun Strowman's music hit and of course it was HE, THE MONSTER AMONG MEN who would be their opponent. I laughed my ass off because I knew this match would be quick. And it was. Really there is nothing else to say about if you want to see watch for yourself below..

Alexa Bliss made a small appearance Monday night. She boasted and bragged as she usually does. Claiming that Women's Royal Rumble came about because of her and her achievements. Uh, no biscuit butt it isn't because of you. You were apart of it but not one of the defining superstars. Paige, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley all ushered in a new era in the WWE for women. I won't take nothing from you. You are one of the best on the mic to ever do it. Your good. But you are not as good in the ring as your counterparts. Realistically I thought it would be a while before you became champion.

To continue my issue with Alexa I have a few questions: Why is she not in a feud with anyone? Alexa hasn't had a feud since before Survivor Series. No rivalry, no nothing. Alexa hasn't been in action since Absolution has debuted. I'm sorry but her holding that title hostage is getting on my damn nerves. It hasn't been defended and she hasn't had a proper feud with ANYONE on the roster except for Sasha Banks and Bayley. And those were earlier in the year.

But I digress back to Monday night... Asuka interrupted her little party and declared that she would be entering into the Women's Royal Rumble. Then she kicked Bliss dead in the face and danced off. Lmao. I like Asuka. She's cool and something the WWE needed: DIVERSITY.

This seemed like an unnecessary segment though. I don't understand why this was even put on tv. Asuka could've been put in a match and then make her declaration after the match was over. And then another thing: Why did you say you needed Nia Jax interrupt her and Zo only for her not to be seen for the rest of the night? Like she wasn't laying in wait for you or nothing? Bruh, whats good?

Final Match & Main Event: Rollins & Jordan vs The Shower Rod Bros aka The BAR.

Started off great. Jordan and Rollins seem to work well with each other. But when dealing with a seasoned team like The Bar, you are going to have to fight them and their chemistry. They work together like a well-oiled machine. Each man clearly able to be a singles competitor but together their dangerous. It was difficult for me to see how Rollins and Jordan, two men who clearly have no love lost for each other would be able to fight through that.

The duration of the match Rollins was left at the mercy of the champs. Constant tagging they really worked Rollins over. Rollins kept looking for the tag but was pulled too many times to count. It took a lot of effort but once Jordan got in it the tempo sped up. It was great watching him in the ring. He also had some tough moments. Rollins saved Jordan's ass from submission to signature move. EVERY single time he got in trouble Rollins was there to bail him out. Long story short Jordan and Rollins were able to push through and become the new tag team champions.

Overall...

The show was entertaining. Each match that meant something was worthy of airtime.

Best Matches of the Night

Jason Jordan & Seth Rollins vs The BAR aka The Shower Rod

Say what you want about Jason Jordan but he's great in the ring. If only they could get his character together. I don't like the sneaky grimy fake innocent I love my new dad bullshit. Give him something concrete. Something that will make him POP!

This match was awesome and there was no tell sign as to which way it was going to go which is a good thing.

Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns

This match went the distance and I'm a little sad that it didn't get a definitive winner. But it did allow Roman to bring out his vicious side which I love. Samoa Joe is the prime time all day! Without him, there would be a major hole in the WWE. He's smart, cunning, charismatic, arrogant, and ferocious. He has unwavering confidence and strength that is unmatched. He and Roman in the ring are always at their best. I loved the match as a whole. I hope and suspect that this was only part one and a match for IC Championship will be set for the Royal Rumble.

Absolution vs Bayley, Sasha Banks & Mickie James

They finally got this match right. After weeks of this match breaking down each competitor was able to have time to fight and showcase their wrestling chops. I just don't want this to become a pattern. There needs to be something to this storyline with Absolution an end game. A goal. We all knew The Shield, DX and Evolution's end game. Hold titles, dominate and shake up the authority. But the only thing I see absolution doing is fizzling out after Paige holds the title.

Those were my favorite matches of the night. I enjoyed the show. I thought it flowed nicely and had some funny moments. Good job for the last show of the year.

UPDATE:

Now with this stipulation added I can imagine how this will play out. This is quite interesting...

I am so sorry for my lateness. I am working on being quicker and more consistent with my content. Until next time folks...Look out for my SDLive review!

Monday RAW has come and gone. I watched the show and now I'm gonna give my opinion.

RAW started off with the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle coming to the ring to address last week's match between Braun Strauman and Kane. In case you didn't know...that match ended in a double count-out with both men continuing to fight afterward. It was meant to determine who Brock Lesnar [the current WWE Universal Champion] would face at the Royal Rumble.

Kurt didn't really get much out before Braun Strowman and Kane both came out to make their cases. Not to mention the ever so popular (for what reason I don't know) Brock Lensar was also waiting to hear who his opponent would be at the Royal Rumble. But the two monstrous entities still held massive animosity towards each other and it was about to implode. To add even more gas to the fire the resident Walrus Paul Heyman decided to come out and bring his meat head with him. So what did Kurt do? He announced a triple threat match: Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar vs Kane at the royal rumble for WWE Universal Championship and then he got the hell outta dodge. Check the implosion of the announcement with all 3 competitors via WWE YouTube page:

Moving on...

Seth Rollins was set to face Samoa Joe. I'm gonna sideline for a second...

Ok..so there's this weird storyline between The Shield and Samoa Joe and they added in The Bar aka the Shower Rod.

This all started almost a month ago. Right before Survivor Series and the #Undersiege attack from SDLive which ultimately they ended up losing in the end for the second year in a row! Anyway, The Shower Rod brothers were able to capitalize on a distraction caused by the New Day making them 3-time tag team champions. Ever since then they've been rubbing it in Dean and Seth's face. But during that time Samoa Joe got injured and was out for a minute. Now with Joe gone, there was a hole no one was reeking havoc on the roster and when he came back he began to fulfill his role as a hornet's nest rattler.

Roman Reigns obtained the Intercontinental Championship and The Shield was stronger than ever. The Shield invoked their rematch clause and tried to attempt to regain them. But they were screwed by Samoa Joe and ultimately lost their opportunity to regain the belts. Since then its been a 3 on 3 and sometimes 3 on 2 assault. With baby bottle Jordan begging and pleading in the background for matches against these top men. Mainly Samoa Joe. It's a very annoying and weird storyline that I wish they would end ASAP.

Now back to Monday night...

Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe was the match but Jason Jordan came out and interjected himself into the match once again. He made it clear he respected the former WWE Champ but he wasn't going to be waiting around for his father to give him matches anymore. He was going to take what he wanted. As Seth TRIED to respond but was interrupted by Samoa Joe. Joe proposed Rollins and Jordan fight it out and then the winner can get knocked out by him.

Well, Kurt Angle accepted and changed the match despite the annoyance of Jordan. Jordan is like a nat. Constantly buzzing around and finding a reason to make himself relevant! But in the end, he just looks like a nuisance who has good performance in the ring but is boring to watch on the mic and as a superstar. Something has to give with Jordan because his storyline is going nowhere.

Rollins picks up the win by the way. But of Joe made it clear that this was about him and went on the attack! See the video above.

I will say this: This whole storyline is odd. With Samoa Joe, The Bar aka The Shower Rod, and The Shield and Jason Jordan. There are too many variables and no clear direction. It's very clear they had no idea how to bring Joe in. So they teamed him up with Sheamus and Cesaro a team that was already having a weird rivalry with 2 members of The Shield: Ambrose and Rollins. I'll explain that in another blog it'll my year assessment of the WWE. Anyway...

Ambrose Rollins and Jordan all went to Angle for a shot at Samoa Joe and The Shower Rod Bros. So the GM made a match the first main event of the night: 6 Man Tag - Ambrose, Rollins, and Jordan vs Joe, Sheamus, and Cesaro.

Moving on.....

Matt Hardy has finally been able to use his Broken Matt schtick from TNA. Well...sort of. Instead of Broken Matt, he's now known as Woken Matt. Same schtick different name. Its clear TNA was not about to have one of its most popular characters running around in the WWE. But clearly, they've found a way around that. Just like TNA found a way for Mr. Ken Kennedy to use his schtick aka "Mr. Anderson".

Matt Hardy lost to Bray Wyatt about 3 weeks ago. Decent match nothing to write home about but the key here was the end. Matt clearly was frustrated and therefore could not contain his emotions or his sanity. Having a complete meltdown in the middle of the ring Woken Matt was born. Light to Bray Wyatt's dark. I thought this was ingenious and I really had high hopes that it would work.

Matt and Bray haven't met in the ring since Woken Matt was born. Time is ticking and many fans, as well as myself, were anticipating these two forces meeting face to face! But it hasn't happened, they've just been trading thoughts for the last 2 weeks. They haven't really fought it out or came across each other to make it worthwhile. This so-called rivalry is a complete letdown. It started with Bray Wyatt cutting a promo and then Woken Matt would cut in during his promo and basically countered everything Wyatt said.

Alluding to a Great War between two powerful entities: The Light (Woken Matt) and the Dark (Bray Wyatt). These two haven't been in the ring or on tv in terms of live television in about 2 weeks. As I said they've been basically been trading speeches.

But this Monday Bray Wyatt addressed Matt Hardy and those that love him head on and proclaimed that the Great War must come to an end. Watch:

Not one to be upstaged Matt responded in his own "unique" way.

At some point, these two have to clash. I hope with all this damn buildup that Thing 1 and Thing 2 make it worthwhile.

Moving on...

Finn Balor made his weekly debut. I don't really understand what they're doing with Balor. But I honestly believe a battle with Balor and Miz should've happened rather this forced Shield reunion. Don't get me wrong I liked the Shield reuniting. But with Roman getting sidelined like that it made it feel lackluster. Same thing for Balor and Bray Wyatt. They had a good series going and then Wyatt got sick and couldn't perform. It took the wind out of Balor's sails and derailed Wyatt to the bottom of the barrel. I also I think they made a mistake by giving Roman the IC Championship right now. That could've happened at another time. Balor had the momentum and DEFINITELY needed to push! Just my opinion...ok back to the match.

Balor asked the GM for a match at against the Miztourage aka MizBitches. It was granted. And the match was underway. I'm going, to be honest, I was not interested in this match AT ALL. Balor is being used in a weird ass way and they should've let him and Samoa Joe battle it out for a minute if they weren't going to allow Balor to hold the IC Title. Then push Roman to be involved with the Universal Championship if you want him to be in the limelight (but I get it. they want to push the monster's narrative with the 3 behemoths of the WWE).

Anyway, the match was pretty lame but both of the MizBitches ended up being disqualified for continuing to fight after the ref counted.

While Balor was getting beatdown some music hits that sounds eerily similar to Ultimate Warrior's entrance music. I was sitting there like what the hell is going on. Then a wrestler I had only seen once on NXT: Hideo Itami entered the ring and helped Finn gain the upper hand. This was turned into a tag team match Balor and Itami vs The MizBitches. Balor and Itami picked up the win. Watch:

I don't have much info on Hideo Itami other than what I've heard via the RAW broadcast. Itami is going to be apart of 205 Live I'm interested to see how that works out.

Moving on...

Time to shine a light on the Cruiserweights division. It was the first main event match of the night. It was Cedric Alexander vs Drew Gulak to determine who would face Enzo Amore (or I like to call him Mighty Mouth) for the Cruiserweight Championship. I was rooting for Cedric Alexander. I have been a fan of his from the very beginning I think he's just an amazing in-ring competitor and anyone who gets in the ring with him instantly looks a thousand times better (similar to the way Aj Styles makes his opponents look great). Now originally it was Rich Swann who was set to take on Drew but due Rich's domestic and legal issues he's been placed on suspension indefinitely until the situation is rectified. So they had a new fatal four way and Cedric won replacing Rich for Monday's number one contender showdown.

Now that everyone is caught up...Cedric and Drew had a good match. And the Zo Train's commander and chief was at the announcer's table just yammering away. Talking over the announcers making it very difficult to focus on the match. Hey WWE, don't do that ish again alright. Its annoying enough to listen to Booker T with his shucky ducky quack quack and GoodT BS. Just let Zo talk when necessary, which isn't much. Meanwhile on Twitter Nia Jax told Zo to check his DM's. And we all tweeted and encouraged Zo to do so. All the while this match that was going on which was pretty good I must say. Hard hitting, high flying it was a damn good match. Gulak and Alexander have an amazing chemistry in the ring.

Anywho once Enzo got that DM he decided to go in the back and meet up with Nia. Instead of Gulak focusing on the task at hand. He stops and watches Zo leave which allows Alexander gets the drop on him. The match continues it goes tit for tat. Gulak goes on the top rope but he hesitates and gets hit with the Lumbar Check (which is a unique move btw. it's just a beautiful to see). Cedric picks up the win.

Meanwhile, Enzo is in the back sizing up Nia. And of course, Drew comes to apologize and talk to his leader about the loss. Nia scurries away and Enzo scolds Gulak for losing to Alexander.

Moving on...

2nd Main Event of the Night. The 6 Man Tag Team Match: Ambrose Rollins and Jordan vs Joe Sheamus and Cesaro. It was a good match. It started shakily with Jordan desperate to start the match. They got a good stride going trading blows and making it worthwhile to watch.

During this match, Dean got injured. Giving Seth (and the Ref) a minor distraction that allowed the Shower Rod bros to capitalize and pick up the win. Afterwards, Dean was being seen by WWE personnel and they were then attacked again by Joe and The Shower Rod Bros.

Dean Ambrose suffered a real injury. His tricep was completely torn from the bone according to doctors. He underwent successful surgery to reattach the muscle and has already begun rehab. If he's a freak of nature like John Cena expect to see him back in time for the Royal Rumble. But as of right now there is no timetable for his return and most people are not hopeful that he will be back in time for the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber or Wrestlemania. There were a couple filler matches one was to introduce The Revival back into the fold. The Revival has been injury prone since they came up from NXT. One of them got injured early on in their WWE debut and they were sidelined. Then they returned had little bouts with Cass and Enzo, Gallows and Anderson, Sheamus and Cesaro and the New Day when they were apart of RAW. But they got injured before they could get a proper shot at the title. Which at the time Sheamus and Cesaro were the title holders. They've been gone for quite some time. They were not apart of Wrestlemania, Summerslam, or Survivor Series so they have a lot of catching up to do!

The match was set Heath Slater and Rhyno vs The Revival and of course, The Revival won. It was pretty short nothing to write home about.

However, after the match was over the GM did give Heath and Rhyno a little pep talk. He told them they did great but they need to make a change in order to be successful. Rhyno caught the hint and knows exactly what to do to change the tide for the form SDLive Tag Team Champs. Heath Slater was confused and hesitant hollering about his kids and if it was going to hurt. Lmao, it was a funny segment and served its purpose I guess.

2nd filler match of the night was Asuka vs Alicia Fox. Asuka is undefeated and they've been pushing this angle ever since she relinquished the title on NXT due to an arm injury. She left NXT as the undefeated women's champion and will forever be revered as one of the greatest champions of all time.

Alicia and Asuka have had several matches over the past few weeks. They set it up like each contender is asking for these matches so they can be the one to give Asuka her first loss. It started with Dana Brooke and well she didn't fare too well. I give her an A for confidence but she was easy prey. Then we have crazy Foxy. 10-year vet and former divas champion. Personally, I hate her persona. Let me make this clear I don't hate her (from what I've seen on Total Divas in passing when she was on it she's really nice), cause I don't know her but her character is rather irritating. I hate it. This whole "crazy" ish worked for Aj Lee but on Alicia, it just looks ridiculous. It hasn't worked for her for YEARS. The WWE Universe usually doesn't know how to respond to her and most of the time you get boos, murmurs, or no reaction at all which is just sad. Either repackage Foxy into a strong competitor and give her some wrestling moves besides the northern lights suplex and a scissor kick or I'm out. Matter of fact I'm already out. Bye Bish...

Back to the Action.

Alicia Fox vs Asuka this match was not half bad. Both competitors performed well with each other. But midways through the match Asuka began to dominate. Asuka picks up the win.

End of Night

Stephanie McMahon has already arrived and it's clear the Road to Wrestlemania is set to begin.

Main Event of the night was set. Sasha Bayley and Mickie James vs Absolution.

Once again they've used a format that worked previously in the past and executed it poorly. There is no direction for Absolution other than letting everyone know Paige has returned and brought some new faces with her. Her heel character comes across as jealous and vindictive. As if the WWE and the WWE Universe has forgotten that she too was a part of the Women's Revolution. Which would work if there was some light at the end of this tunnel? There are no women's tag belts so that's out. Only one of you can be the women's champion. So I ask again what is the point of the faction? And if you bring up The MizBitches or any other male faction my rebuttal will be all those men have a chance at becoming respective champions on their own or as a team. Whereas the women's division is still be stifled by 40 women going after 3 belts one on each show. I'll delve further into this topic in a separate blog. Anyway, these two minions she has with her I honestly don't know anything about them. I've never seen before on NXT from the few times I've watched and I don't remember seeing them on the Mae Young Classic either, but I could be wrong. So if you know who these women are by all means give me the deets.

Anyway before the match could begin Elias decided to have an impromptu concert. But he was constantly interrupted by the competitors who were set to have a match during that time. And thank god for that. Honestly, I really like Elias and I think he's talented on the guitar and in the ring. But his singing is uh...not good and well I need to see something else. He's got a mean streak and I want to see him pursue a belt or have a decent rivalry with someone. But I don't care to hear him sing. It's like going to a concert and the artist asks you to sing the song for them. I mean I'm cool with singing along but Bish I paid $85 for the cheap seats got dammit YOU SING! LMAO, Basically what I'm saying I don't watch wrestling to watch a man sing a song to insult people and then MAYBE wrestle.

This was a good match. They traded blows, fought on the outside, and battled to maintain control. But just when Sasha was about to pick up the win, the vultures swooped in and changed the game. They had already taken out Mickie and Bayley so Absolution focused on Sasha. But then...well take a look:

As the beatdown continued, Nia Jax came out and for a minute Absolution was dominated. But the numbers game took her ou too. Then the whole roster came down and it was a rumble in the ring. Until the Queen of WWE Stephanie McMahon came down and shocked the entire women's division and WWE Universe. Check it out:

In case you didn't watch: THE ROYAL RUMBLE WILL MAKE HISTORY AND HAVE THE FIRST EVER WOMEN'S ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH. THIS IS MONUMENTAL AND IT WAS AN AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENT!

Final thoughts:

Raw was ok. It has its moments where I muted the tv but it kept my attention for the better part of the show. The best part of the night for me Cedric becoming #1 Contender, the Women's Royal Rumble announcement, Braun Kane and Lesnar, and the women's 6 man tag match until it broke down.

I will say this. To make this division more viable you need rivalries. Alexa Bliss hasn't wrestled on RAW since Survivor Series. She hasn't built up a new rivalry with anyone. It looked like Paige and her minions were going after her too but they kept on Sasha Bayley Mickie Asuka and Alicia Fox. I want some rivalries with these women beyond the belt. Make the division worthwhile.

Same for the men. Sometimes a battle for supremacy is just what the doctor ordered. A belt doesn't have to be involved for it to be great. Find a way to incorporate the guys in a rivalry that works for them. Making great matches and great rivalries.

That is all for now, until next time...

Smackdown Live opens with Daniel Bryan talking up the newest addition to the Royal Rumble. An all-female superstar rumble. All the female superstars in the WWE from both SDLive and RAW will compete and earn the opportunity to main event Wrestlemania! He also announced the main event for tonights show. A 6 man tag team match featuring: Nakamura Randy Orton and Aj Styles vs Jinder Mahal Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Then the issue of the previous pay per view Clash of Champions was brought up by Shane McMahon coming out to address Daniel Bryan, himself. Shane explained his actions. The acts that caused him to bias as the referee for this match. Knowing he had the livelihood of 2 of the competitors in his hands he recognized and understood that he did make a mistake. However, he wondered what was Daniel Bryan's malfunction because he didn't have a vendetta against any of the opponents in that match.

Daniel says he did what he did to protect the integrity of the show and to protect Shane from himself. Shane was taken aback but told the GM that he needed to be careful who he showed favoritism to. He warned him that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn can't be trusted. Daniel made it clear that he didn't want Shane OMac to turn into Mr. McMahon. He doesn't want an "Authority" type figure doing whats Best for Business because that goes against the very essence of their SHARED VISION for SDLive and the hand picked superstars on their roster. The land of opportunity was the vision for everyone and Daniel felt that Shane was letting his personal feelings cloud his judgment. Shane was visibly angered but told Daniel that he respected him and good luck with the show tonight. He walked away. Leaving Daniel in charge.

Next Segment 1st Match of the Night:

The Usos vs Gable and Benjamin

This match was ok. Good tempo, nice it was a good match to watch. But...I don't care for Gable and Benjamin as a team. I was confused as to why it took so long to bring Benjamin back and why they decided to place him with Gable. I knew Gable and Jordan were split up but I thought would be placed in the singles division. I guess I was wrong. I will say this though: I think they work well together and make a great team. I'm just not a fan.

Gable and Benjamin pick up the win in this match.

Charlotte Flair addresses the WWE Universe and the announcement that Commissioner of RAW Stephanie McMahon made Monday about the Royal Rumble. She was ecstatic and praised the fans, the women's division and the WWE itself for recognizing the women's division as a viable asset.  Obviously, title holders won't be able to compete but she was still happy and proud to be a part of the EVOLUTION of Women in the WWE. But she also made it very clear to whoever wins she'll be waiting at Wrestlemania. Making known that the Queen has no intention of losing the Smackdown Live women's championship anytime soon.

FEEL THE GLOW! Naomi comes out and announces herself as the first entrant into the women's royal rumble and lets the queen known that with all due respect she'll see her at Wrestlemania. In walks the knockoff Absolution aka the Riott Squad. Setting up an impromptu match for 2 of the members of the team to do battle again the Queen and Glow.

Decent match, Charlotte was dominated most of the match by the Riott Squad. But once Naomi was tagged she shook it up and picked up the win for her team. All in all, it was a good match.

My overall feelings of the Riott Squad is not a good one. I didn't watch NXT (I still don't I'll explain why in a different post) so I don't have a background of these three. I don't feel as though they were ready to come to the WWE on the main roster. Sarah Logan tries to be tough and hard but she's not pulling it off. She yells in the ring more than anything and quite honestly its all for naught. Liv Morgan seems to have a Bella Twins complex. Look pretty, barely have any wrestling chops and win matches by the skin of your teeth. Honestly, those days are long gone THANK GOD and
I don't care for them to come back. The only viable and plausible member of this group is Ruby Riott. She seems to be the most seasoned of the crew. But she's being held back by this two newbie weights. I don't care for this faction at all. There's no originality to it. They have done nothing but TRY to take a page out of DX, Legend Killers, and The Shields playbook but they failed to execute it properly and it isn't working. It's not as bad the Bella Twins and Foxy clique situation from a few years back but it's working on my nerves like it.

#DolphCelebration began and everyone who's anyone was there...well not exactly. Dolph came out and did his typical song and dance but it was a little different. He ran down every title he's ever won. Chastising anyone who doubted or questioned why he was even added to the match at Clash of Champions. Despite the fact that he appeared to be angry it was also sad and odd. You would think he would be happy to be champion. But he wasn't. He was far from it. In the end, he vacated the title in the middle of the ring and left.

It wasn't the way a wrestler like Dolph should've went out. He's one of the best in-ring performers they have and I think this was a terrible way to send him off. I'm sad to see him go. But I've heard rumors that he wants to pursue comedy and movies. I can't wait to see what he does with his career. Good Luck Dolph...I'm definitely gonna miss ya.

New Day wanted to have a special Christmas celebration but it was thwarted by Aiden English and Rusev.

That resulted in a match between the two teams.

This match was meant to be comical and it was. It wasn't a necessary match. It was full of pancakes, whipped cream, cherries and a New Day win. A great Christmas present for everyone.

With Rusev being the dominating brute at the beginning of his career. It's kind of sad to see him be reduced to the comic relief with the forever tone deaf Aiden English (another wrestler who was in a great tag team in NXT and has now fallen to the bottom of the WWE). It just doesn't seem like the best thing for Rusev. Honestly, I thought he'd be WWE Champion or Universal Champion at least once by now. But at the rate he's going I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens finally made an appearance only to gloat and do exactly what Shane McMahon said they were gonna do. Change the tide and force everyone to see Daniel Bryan as the villain and they are doing that. They came into the GM's office and began congratulating him and gloating about their win at Clash at Champions. As well as insinuating that Daniel helped to screw Randy Orton because of their past history on RAW. Orton was a prominent fixture and resident token of The Authority, doing what was "Best for Business" meant taking away the very thing that Daniel had fought so hard to obtain. The WWE Championship. But those days are long gone and both men have moved on, but if you ask Kevin and Sami that is not the case. Daniel denounced those claims and "claimed" he only did what he thought was best for the show. Take a look...

I don't like Sami Zayn in this "Heel" role. It doesn't fit him. He comes across as if he's playing a character. And in wrestling, the job is either to have the WWE Universe root for you or dislike your character so much they actually believe you are your persona. Kevin Owens and The Miz are prime examples of that. But Sami doesn't fit the bill. I actually wanted Sami Zayn on SDLive by himself. I think he would've flourished and could've even been champion one day. But with Kevin Owens coming to SDLive with him it cut Sami's path to the championship off and stifled his shot to any title run. But I digress...

The 6 man tag team match began. It had a good tempo, decent ups, and downs. I liked this match most of all. One thing I will say it was drawn out. SDLive is only 2 hours and seems like they took the last of the 30 minutes on the show to fill it with this match.

The show ended with Nakamura Orton and Styles picking up the win. Despite interference from the Gloettes.

Final Analysis

The show as eh... It started off giving the illusion being great but it really was just a spat between D. Bryan and Shane O Mac and Dolph Ziggler vacating the title. Those were the two most exciting aspects of the show. There were some competitors missing from the show this week. There was no Bobby Roode, no Baron Corbin, Natalya, Carmella, Tamina, or Lana. If Smackdown doesn't do something quick to shake it up and make it interesting the decline in ratings will begin.

I love Smackdown but if you ask me the GM should've been Edge. He was Smackdown for years! But we have Daniel and he's great, no disrespect to him but that was just my opinion. Then instead of bringing in new female superstars in a different way. You give them the same schtick as Absolution on Raw. It wasn't a good look and it makes Smackdown look like a B-show.

I wish there was some more excitement to Smackdown. Its just bland and its been that way for a while. Its a 2-hour show and I heard a lot of people saying it needed to be expanded to 3. If they are going to put on shows like this every Tuesday, I am not sitting for 3 hours looking at that. I can't. I want to see some real storylines. Something worthy of watching on tv. I always say this and I will keep saying it. Wrestling is the ultimate soap opera. Fighting, relationships, oppressive powers, heroes, anti-heroes, villains, it takes the greatest aspects of a good tv show and displays it live for everyone to see. Get back to that SDLive.

For the good of the show, ITS WHAT'S BEST FOR BUSINESS!
